Orthopedic Assessment

Knowing the precise location of an injured structure allows for a more effective application of therapeutic technique. This class presents common orthopedic and neuro evaluations to arrive at a better assessment of a clients musculo skeletal complaint. Topics covered include the initial exam. ortho neuro tests, xrays, MRIs, CT labs, anatomy of fracture types, bone healing, soft tissue injury, degenerative joint disease. Tui Na for Back Disorders

This advanced clinical skills class emphasizing Chinese physical therapy methods of tui na bodywork and technique, which also include neurological and orthopedic examination, oriental assessment and treatment. You will learn to select examination procedures , to integrate findings with historical data, and differential syndromes. You will learn advanced manipulation methods of yao, ban, bashen for treating upper and lower back disorders with emphasis on proper body mechanics. This class is perfect for practicing bodyworkers and acupuncturists looking to hone their existing skills , It consists of lecture and demonstration with adequate time for practice.8 CEU Date TBD

Pediatric Tui Na

Discover the practice of pediatric tui na rooted in oriental medicine. This class guides practitioners through assessment and treatment for attendees who already have some existing oriental medicine training. Techniques are aimed at stimulating specific areas, lines and acupoints to promote the smooth flow of qi and blood. You will learn to identify common pediatric conditions and the techniques to address them which in turn can be taught to parents. Adding this modality can attract new clients. 8 CEU Date TBD
